Customer lifecycle template

What is the customer lifecycle template?

In order to market your product effectively to a specific customer, you need to understand their sentiment towards your brand throughout their ongoing journey with your product or service. This allows you to tailor your message to what will persuade them best at each stage. This template can help.

The customer lifecycle template helps you visualize the six stages that customers go through: awareness, interest, desire, action, loyalty, and advocacy. Use the template to map customer engagement over time, identify what is currently happening for customers, and what could or should happen for customers over their lifecycle.

Benefits of the customer lifecycle template

When you view the whole lifecycle in the template, you’ll have an easier time figuring out how to make customers loyal to your brand. You can:

  • Compare where your customers fall versus where you want them to be.
  • Set goals to improve the customer journey within your brand or product.
  • Brainstorm ideas to increase customer loyalty and advocacy while decreasing churn.
  • Optimize your customer lifetime value.

How to use the customer lifecycle template in Lucidspark

You can use the template for designing a new experience or for analyzing an existing experience.

To design a new customer experience, brainstorm ideas for each phase of the lifecycle. Set goals to drive customers through the stages towards advocacy, and set action items for each stage to help them get there.

To analyze an existing experience, define what happens in each stage of the customer lifecycle on the template. Next, identify areas that need improvement and set goals to help customers progress through the stages. Set action items in each stage to help customers move towards becoming your loyal advocates.

As you work, take advantage of Lucidspark’s collaborative features. Use sticky notes to write down information and goals about each stage, and use collaborator colors so you can easily tell what person contributed each idea. You can also use emojis and comments to react to what your team members put in the template.

To keep your work organized, try tagging your sticky notes as you go with any themes that arise. You can use the Gather and Sort features later to look at similar information.
