Proof of concept project template

Validate your product concept with a proof of concept project

Many groundbreaking products and services start out as imaginative concepts, but not all concepts are actually feasible for you and your company. Put your ideas to the test with a proof of concept template from Lucidspark. Our template is especially helpful for rapid-start projects and Agile sprints, when you and your team need to quickly move from concepts to actionable plans.

Our collaborative template will help you and your product development team narrow down your project concept and decide how to build your project. You’ll also be able to quickly document and share the relevant information with team members and stakeholders, keeping everyone updated in real time as your concept and plans progress.

How to use the proof of concept project template in Lucidspark

  1. To start your proof of concept project, first define your goals and metrics for success.
  2. Then, set up a workshop for your team and share your template via Lucidspark’s virtual whiteboard. As you invite everyone to contribute to the board, it will become your one-stop shop for all of your proof of concept project documentation.
  3. As your workshop progresses, have team members add sticky notes with their ideas to the board in the appropriate spaces. You may want to assign each participant a collaborator color so you can more easily keep track of everyone’s contributions. You can also use Lucidspark’s Zoom integration to further facilitate communication.
  4. When the brainstorm is complete, you can start a Voting session in Lucidspark to receive the team’s input on priority items.
  5. Then, assign the “Week One” tasks for different teams, using Lucidspark Cards to create action items.
  6. As the tasks progress, use the other spaces provided to document the output for each week’s tasks. Here, it may be helpful to use Lucidspark’s link preview to provide visuals of the outputs.

You’ll want to update the template periodically as your sprint progresses to reflect the current week’s tasks and outputs. As you build your concept out into actionable tasks and plans, you’ll be able to quickly see how viable your concept is and what changes need to be made.
